Every day that passes by, my girls inspire me to be a better mother for them. They represent all of my achievements. Because of them, I push myself every day and I try to learn from life so I can teach them.
Every picture I take are memories that I will have of their childhood and youth which I will always carry with me in my heart and mind.
They are both very close, always taking care of each other. They love to learn and they have fun doing activities together.

Así de hermosa es la vida. Siempre quiero descubrir que sigue más adelante en un futuro. Siempre me pregunto qué es lo que sigue más allá, ya que la vida te da sorpresas y no sé si me esperan por recorrer situaciones difíciles.
This beautiful place with flower petals and trees that bring peace and tranquility, makes me think of the road of life. Where one wants to discover what is ahead and where it will end.
That is how beautiful life is. I always want to discover what is ahead in the future. I always ask myself what is next out there since life is full of surprises and I don’t know if difficult situations lay ahead for me.

Trapped in freedom, this is how we immigrants feel even when we are in this country legally. We have the freedom to go about and work, but we feel trapped because we don’t know when someone is going to point at us.

Así como este insecto logró colocarse a la cima de la ramita sin caer, así luchamos por lograr aquello que para nosotros nos parece imposible pero no lo es. Eso que nos parece imposible está en nuestras mentes. Podemos lograr lo que nos propongamos.
Just like this insect got to the top of the branch without falling, this is how we achieve what looks like impossible to us but is not. That which seems impossible is in our mind. We can achieve what we put forward.

Cuando camino por las tardes puedo ver los rayos del sol cayendo sobre este hermoso paisaje. Al lado izquierdo se logra ver los corrales de mi ciudad. Mi esposo trabaja en una granja y estoy agradecida porque él tiene un trabajo en el cual ha podido sacar a la familia adelante. Su trabajo es pesado pero él siempre ha luchado para que no nos falte nada.
When I go for a walk in the afternoon I can see the sun rays falling over this beautiful landscape. To the left you can see the city’s farmyards. My husband works in a farm and I am grateful that he has a job where he can provide for his family. His work is hard, but he has always fought so that we always have everything.

Este es mi hijo jugando a la pelota un fin de semana fuera de la casa como si fuera un profesional, pero en realidad él está aprendiendo. Me causa mucha emoción y felicidad cuando lo veo jugando y disfrutando. Yo deseo que él y mis otros hijos siempre disfruten y triunfen en la vida y que todos sus sueños se hagan realidad.
This is my son playing ball on a weekend outside our house as if he were a professional, but in reality, he is just learning. I get so emotional and happy when I see him playing and enjoying himself. I hope that he and my other children will always have fun and be successful in life and that all of their dreams come true.

Hubo un tiempo en el que trabajé en la granja. Yo les daba agua y de comer. También les daba su medicina cuando se enfermaban. Era un poco cansado pero a la vez muy bonito. Estamos aquí para darles una mejor vida a nuestros hijos, pero muchas veces nos sentimos encerrados como si estuviéramos en una jaula porque no tenemos la libertad que tendríamos en México
There was a time when I worked in the farm. I fed them and gave them water. I also gave them their medicine when they got sick. It was a bit tiring, but nice at the same time. We are here to give our children a better life, but many times we feel locked up like if we were in jail because we don’t have the freedom that we would have in Mexico.

Cuando sea grande quiero llegar a ser una gran deportista, el cual con la ayuda de Dios va a dejar de ser solo un sueño y se va hacer realidad. Quiero tener la oportunidad de llegar a jugar en grandes equipos de basquetbol o voleibol y que no se quede en un sueño por falta de esfuerzo y trabajo.
When I grow up I want to be a great athlete, which with the help of God, is going to stop being a dream and become a reality. I want to have the opportunity to play for a great basketball or volleyball team and I hope it doesn’t just keep being a dream because of lack of effort and work.
Many times people never see their dreams come true just because they don’t make an effort. That is why I ask God to not let that be the case with me.

La naturaleza es parte importante de mi vida porque es la creación de Dios. Cuando me siento triste, miro al cielo azul y me doy cuenta que para Dios no hay nada imposible. Cuando siento la ausencia de mi familia, miro los árboles y el cielo y me da la fuerza y la tranquilidad que necesito para seguir luchando por mi familia y lo más importante es que me siento cobijada ante la gracia de Dios.
Nature is an important part of my life because it is God’s creation. When I feel sad, I look at the blue sky and I realize that nothing is impossible for God. When I feel my family’s absence, I look at the trees and the sky and I get the strength and tranquility that I need to keep fighting for my family and most importantly, I feel sheltered by God’s grace.

Al mirar el rostro de mi niña, aunque tengo la certeza de que es feliz, no puedo evitar pensar en esos niños que son separados de sus padres solo porque esos padres se ven en la necesidad de emigrar a otro país para darle un mejor futuro a sus hijos. Espero no tener que pasar por ese dolor con la ayuda de Dios. Espero que el gobierno tome otra medida y que no sea separar a las familias que por necesidad se ven obligadas a ir a otro país.
Looking at my daughter’s face even though I am sure she is happy, I can’t help but think of those children that are separated from their parents just because their parents are faced with the necessity of migrating to another country to give their children a better future. I hope I never have to go through that, God willing.
And I hope the government takes other measures which are not separating these families that are forced to go to other countries.
