Rony Fernando García Delgado

Soy de Santa Rosa Casillas, Guatemala. Es un pequeño y bonito pueblo llamado Corralitos. Nací en los campos de la tierra; mis padres todavía trabajan la tierra. Cultivamos café, maíz y frijoles. Cortamos, secamos, pelamos y trituramos los granos de café para enviarlos a otro lugar.

Soy el primero de tres hijos en una familia cercana. Nos amamos y nos apoyamos. Mi hermano y yo éramos particularmente cercanos hasta que me mudé para trabajar con los caballos. Nunca antes había trabajado con caballos, pero he estado aprendiendo sobre sus hábitos y cómo tratarlos. Soy un caminador de caballos, comenzando cada día a las 5:00 a.m. Camino un mínimo de cinco caballos al día durante 30 minutos. Amo a los caballos que son muy dulces.

Mediante un gran milagro de Dios, obtuve una visa para los Estados Unidos. Quería un futuro y horizontes mejores que los cafetales. El programa de fotografía aquí es especial. No sabía que las imágenes pudieran ser en blanco y negro o sobre la perspectiva y la línea del horizonte.

Yo he sentido que he avanzado aprendiendo cada clase un poco más sobre la fotografía, ya que en los años que he participado he estado aprendiendo de muy buenos maestros y con las diferentes opiniones y fotografías de compañeros y viendo lo que cada quien puede expresar.

He ganado experiencias, aprendizaje, y tuve la dicha de ganar 2 veces el concurso. Con mis fotos espero transmitir un poco sobre mi entorno, así como de transmitir lo bonito de mi país y expresar diferentes sentimientos con mis fotos.

Agradezco a cada uno que se tomó el tiempo para ver mis fotografías y espero las hayan disfrutado.

I am from Santa Rosa Casillas, Guatemala. It is a small and beautiful town named Corralitos. I was born in the fields of my homeland; my parents still work its land. We farm coffee, corn and beans. We cut, dry, peel and treat the coffee grains in order to send them to other places.

I am the oldest of three brothers in my family. We love and support each other. We were close to each other until I moved to work with horses. Never had I worked with horses, but I have been learning their habits and how to work with them. I work as a horse walker, starting every day at 5:00 am. I walk a minimum of 5 horses a day for 30 minutes each. Although it is hard work, I love the horses they are very sweet.

Thanks to god, I obtained a visa to the US. I wanted a better future than that of a coffee farmer. The photography program here is special. I did not know that photos could be in black and white or that there are other things to consider such as perspective and the horizon line.

I feel like every class has furthered my knowledge of photography little by little, over the years I have participated and continued to evolve thanks to my professors, different opinions, and my colleagues’ photos. Being able to see how they express themselves has helped me better express myself.

I have gained experiences, knowledge and I had the fortune of winning the competition twice. With my photos I hope I am able to share a little bit about my surroundings, how beautiful my country is, and express different feelings all with my photos.

I thank every single one of you who took time to look at my photos and I hope you enjoyed.

Se te va el pensamiento, de pronto dejas de estar aquí, estás en cuerpo pero no en pensamiento, pensando en los que no están contigo y que quisieras que estuvieran y cuando de pronto reaccionas que estuviste ya ha pasado la belleza del lugar donde estabas.

You are thinking, you suddenly stop being here, you are in body, but not in thought, thinking of those who are not with you and that you wish were, and when you suddenly realize, you were there all along, but the beauty of the place where you were has passed.

Atrás de mi casa, viendo cómo se filtran los rayos del sol que Dios deja pasar por una ventanita del cielo, me hace pensar: “Éste es un camino al paraíso”.

Compartiendo Alegría En Un Mundeo De Inocenia/Sharing Happiness In An Innocent World

“Quieres?” “Sí!” “Toma.” “Gracias.” “De nada.”

Mientras las observaba, compartieron algo, pero más allá de compartir algo material compartieron sonrisas, Platicaron un buen rato, intentaron enojarse, siguieron jugando y cansadas se tomaron una siesta; un excelente día para ellas. Mi reflexión al final fue:

“Si todos compartiéramos así de sencillo como ellas lo hicieron, todo sería mejor en el mundo.”

While I was watching them, they shared something, beyond sharing a material thing,

they were sharing smiles. They chatted for a while; they tried to get mad but they continued playing and tired they took a nap together. My reflection at the end was:

“If we all shared just like they did, the world would be a better place”

Por pequeña que se vean cosas a la distancia, en realidad son muy grandes y aunque a veces las queremos encerrar, tarde que temprano se descubrirá que fue solo una farsa.
