Este día, regresaba de Boston en un autobús de Greyhound. Siempre estoy triste cuando viajo lejos de mi familia. El autobús hace una parada en la estación de autobuses de Springfield. Viajar a Boston es una experiencia muy divertida para mí. Pasar tiempo con mi familia es lo mejor. Pero cuando me voy para regresar a Saratoga, me siento triste. Pero este día fue diferente—estaba lloviendo fuerte y las gotas de lluvia en la ventana del autobús reflejaban cómo me sentía: las gotas de lluvia eran lágrimas en el pavimento y el contorno de la estación de autobuses. Me gusta cómo el reflejo de la plataforma fue delineado por la lluvia en el pavimento y cómo el reflejo de la estación de autobuses se reprodujo en el pavimento. ¡Parecía maravilloso! No pude evitar tomar una foto y capturar el momento que expresaba mi emoción.

On this day I was returning from Boston on the Greyhound bus. I’m always sad when I travel away from my family. The bus makes a stop at the Springfield bus station. Traveling to Boston is such a fun time for me. Spending time with my family is the best. But when I leave to return to Saratoga, I feel sad. But this day was different— it was raining hard and the rain drops on the window of the bus reflected how I was feeling: the raindrops were tears on the pavement and the outline of the bus station. l like how the reflection of the bus platform was outlined by the rain on the pavement and how the reflection of the bus station mirrored on the pavement. It looked lovely! I couldn’t help but take pictures and capture a moment that conveyed my emotion.

I looked out the window from the bus and all these tiny raindrops covered the window. Immediately I grabbed my camera and took a picture capturing the essence of my emotion that I was feeling at that moment— sad, lonely away from them. It was pouring rain as I looked out the window. The weather conveyed my emotions. I was pensive and sad because I was traveling back to Saratoga away from being with my family.

Caminando a Price Chopper miré hacia el cielo y vi esta magnífica vista del cielo. Fue impresionante, se parecía ondas ondulantes de nubes. Me cautivaba lo hermoso que la ondulación insuperable de nubes que adoraba el ciel. ¡Fue pintoresco! La ondulación de nubes, el árbol y los faros producen un contraste extraordinario. No tenía la intención de tener el carro en la foto—apareció en el momento en que tomé la foto. Mirando la foto, encuentro que los faros del carro agregaron un elemento adicional de luz y de contraste. He decidido llamar esta foto “Ciel de Nuit.” El árbol y los faros creen un contraste notable. Me gusta lo que dijo Elliot Erwitt sobre la fotografía en blanco y negro: “El olor es descriptivo. El blanco y negro es interpretativo.”

Walking to Price Chopper I looked up to the sky and saw this magnificent view of the sky. It was breathtaking, resembling ripple waves of clouds. I was mesmerized by how lovely the unsurmountable ripple of clouds resembled waves adorning the sky. It was picturesque! The ripple of cloud waves, the tree, and headlights, make for a remarkable contrast. The car was not intended in the photo — it happened to show up just as I snapped the picture. Looking at the photo, I found the car’s headlight added that extra element of light and contrast. I’ve decided to title this photo “Ciel de Nuit” “Night Sky.” The tree and the headlight mingle in a remarkable contrast. I like what Elliot Erwitt said about black and white photography: “Color is descriptive. Black and white is interpretive.”
