Julio Góndola

Soy de Panamá y he trabajado con caballos desde 1975. Antes de eso, era atleta y corría competitivamente en los Juegos Centroamericanos, ganando medallas en carreras de relevos. Vine a los Estados Unidos buscando una aventura y la encontré en carreras de caballos, convirtiéndome primero en groom y ahora en caminador (hotwalker). Soy hotwalker para Orb, el caballo que ganó el Derby de Kentucky este año.  

Me gusta la fotografía porque es una manera de compartir mi vida a través del arte. Cuando me retire de trabajar con caballos, me gustaría descubrir algo nuevo.

I am from Panama and have worked with horses since 1975. Before that, I was an athlete and ran competitively in the Central American Games where I medaled in the relay events.  I came to the United States looking for an adventure and found it in horse racing, becoming a Groom and now a Hotwalker. I am a Hotwalker for Orb, the horse that won the Kentucky Derby this year.

I enjoy photography because it is a way to show my life through art.  When I retire from working with horses I would like to discover something new.
